Just a reminder that on Thursday 10th the biggest Liner ever to come to Dover arrives, the 'Carnival Slendor' and the Lions are putting on a bit of a show on the Pier,no fireworks this time, but plenty of free entertainment.
Louise Ofilia Simon Spore and girl band Chix Wiv Pix and the St Edmunds School Jazz Band and Dancers will be there.
There will be raffle tickets on sale for 12 yes 12 pairs if Dinner for 2 on board, and there will be refreshments on the Pier including Bobby Royston's Hot Dogs and Burgers,Waffles Candy Floss and Its all FREE!!!!!!!!
For you who like a bit of Klass Myleene Klass will be on board.
The Splendor has 13 decks and 113,000 tonnes and holds over 4000 people on board.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

This looks like a terrific idea. Ive seen the banner at the roundabout near the Prince of Wales pier and it should be a cracking idea if enough people go and make a party of it.
Good luck with it John.

Now that would be an ideal way of spending the day on board with a Bobby's hot dog, actually the Burgers are better, sorry to disappoint Howard but it is a full meal on board!
Problem is Howard I will be working in that well known sweat shop on the Folkestone Road,so I will miss the evenings entertainment and Bobby's Hot Dogs!

the fact that you will be working when we are all enjoying ourselves, shows you to be a true "dover star".

I took the kids down to the Party on the Pier, which turned out to be the Party on the Prom (I really should have noticed the signs before I dragged the kids all the way to the end of the pier and back). The Cruise Ship was really impressive but in the end the children most enjoyed listening to the music, eating hot dogs and playing on the beach. I love this sort of event, if gives the family a really good time without having to mortgage your soul for it.

Yes indeed, well done to the Dover Lions for staging the event. Quite well attended but unfortunately nowhere near the extraordinary numbers who turned up for the firework display when the Norwegian Gem debuted. Lots of yachts and other small fry out on the water.
Selection of photos below including the seafront entertainers, the Lions - and, of course, Nigel and Charlie.

Yes nice photos there Ed and Well Done indeed to the Dover Lions and all the entertainers.... a great family event to enjoy. The Precious Family obviously enjoyed themselves despite the long walk down the pier, bet they slept well last night Stephanie.
I was on board the magnificent Carnival Splendor for lunch and press photo calls and WOW! What a Splendid ship, she certainly lives up to her name. They chose their godmother well Myleene is certainly a 'Klass' act.
