And some of them are still there Paul yes I was about then and Dover was a great place then with all the shops full up, a pub of each day of the year and shoping in the lanes was great I could go down there for a haircut for just six pence (2 new pence) a pint of beer was 9pence (4 new pence) a bag of sweets for just one old penny,that is less then one new pence. I got 2&6 for a paper round which now would be 12new pence.The list goes on and on. And Britain was great with a very big R/Navy and Army, and the R.A.F.
