I hate shopping at the best of times but what I hate most are shoes.... I really detest them and I mean it.

I have two pairs on the go at any one time and wear them until they are worn out and beyond and make no mistake I expect them to last me for years and years. I am 'years later' and 'beyond' now.

Decided to brace myself and get some.

Ideally I would get exactly the same two pairs of Clarke's as I have now. They did not hurt too much while I was wearing them in, they lasted as long as any I have ever had, I know they fit and thats enough for me.

They have them in that shop in Pencester, well at least one pair, but not the right size... Thats it. I will just carry on managing with split soles for a while yet. Might just brace myself to have another look in a few weeks.... Such is the 'enthusiam' that I have for this 'orrible chore...

Paula suggested buying on-line, on-line for shoes? - well Ok, if I can find exactly the same as I had before. Google search, found Clarke's.....

Masses of shoes - just looking the page makes me feel queezy - I hate the things that much. Can I identify what I have, no chance.....

Amazon - no Clarkes but maybe some wide fitting Hush Puppies might do, a reputable brand (one of few brands I know). But, sizes OK but can I find anything to indicate wide fitting - no luck....... one last try....

Google search for wide fitting shoes - well I am really feel sick of it by now and then I noticed the prices, who on earth would spend over £100 on shoes.... I resent paying over £40. Thats it I feel physically ill, I give up.

Scrap that idea. I need a pint after that awful experience, down to Blakes...
