This is the second gun crime report in the vicinity in recent weeks. However in all truth Dover seems to have escaped the gun and violent crime taking place elsewhere. Although for people locally to produce weapons and use them for the smallest argument is a worrying trend.

Just the other day at the Chamber event I was talking to a fellow forumite who was at some of these Neighbourhood Forum events where the police reassured us that crime was falling...and of course always have back up figures to prove it. But the general feeling is that these crime figures are going down mostly through how they themselves either respond of dont respond to a situation. Our fellow forumite told me he knew first hand that people had reported low level crime initially only for no response to be made, and as a consequence didnt bother to report subsequent crime of the low level sort.

This of course would have the effect of showing that the crime rate is falling.

Heavy crime such as shootings are rare and lets hope the police can continue to keep such horrors off our local streets. The two gun wielders of recent times have been caught.
