    He was the man who drove & delivered the the recent £3.8m funding for Dover. We met last year to agree to put the bid together.Pencester skate park was also his project for Dover Youth in conjunction with DDC.

    He was also a very good friend of mine & a true gentleman. He was "the national giant" in local government over the past decade.

    I was away on hols when the news broke. I hope there will be announcement of a suitably located memorial service. Canterbury Cathedral would be appropriate for such a revered Kentish & national figure.
