That is obvious, paying out benefits and all the usual legacy of excessive spending by the State left by Gordon Brown - the deficit (the excess of spending over income) will not be cleared for 4 years or more.

Coming up to a trillion over the next few decades to pay for alternative energy. Yeah that's really going to bring down the deficit. I see David Willetts has jumped the shark with his latest trip to the Antarctica. And they call him two brains?

catch 22 situation,cut jobs and then pay out benifits with no goverment income [taxes],or spend money to create jobs and gather taxes.
