  Diane, one can't stand on the deck, as it has none. The 'deck' it seems to have is a special kind of glass to receive light, sun-light.
  However, there is also a technology called photo something or another, which receives power merely from light, sun or no sun. This latter technology is very expensive and too ineffective to be used commercially.
  As for the solar-power system, which is the case of this boat, it is also too uneconomical to be used other than for a show-off.
