I hope that this will raise a smile or two. We went to the Palladium in the mid 60's to see the Seekers. Also on the bill were the Nitwits. Here's a bit of their American tour. You don't get novelty acts these days.

The black chap by the way wasn't wearing a bowler, it was just the rim, he would take it off from time to time and wipe it with his hankie.

that was very brave of you to confess going to a "seekers" concert.
you will feel better for getting it off of your chest.
Many years ago, Judith Durham popped into The Cauliflower Hotel one Monday night when I was workiing behind the bar. Monday night was Jazz Night and the boss asked her if she'd do one number for him. She agreed but instead did an improtu half dozen.
Well, she had fantastic lungs and belted out some trad jazz numbers and, to coin a phrase, she brought the house down. Terrific entertainer whatever you think of the Seekers. She also stayed for a drink with the boss and staff after closing time, no big ego, just a nice lady.

the swimming pool got closed by the cost cutting blues some time back, that was a good music pub, got thrown out of there a few times.
was run by a defrocked ex c.i.d. officer at the time.
he later become a defrocked landlord.
