In the Dover Express this week at the top of the Wine & Dine section there is an advertisement feature about the County Hotel. It is something of a sad feature, you actually have to feel sorry for anyone trying to run a business from there, as its totally crippled by the dithering DTIZ. The pictures showing a swimming pool and the restaurant look appealing so isnt it a shame that so many of us have totally written it off..
"The County Hotel is very much open for business"
says the first line
"it is even taking booking for Christmas this year(2009)" it goes on.
The Hotel is still ploughing a lonely furrow in the centre of town, bereft of friends, and bereft of friendly news from the DDC as to whats what re the marie celeste development. I just dont know how they carry on. Lets face it in the current recession its total murder for business, but waiting pensively for the bulldozers to come through your side wall on top of everything else must be a real killer.
They bravely still try to push their ability to handle conferences and special occasions so in a tough climate this is very tough indeed.
