  The George Cross for Dover Campaign is looking to hold a sponsered fund raising event over one weekend fairly early in the new year. In order the emphasise the point of the campaign by living in one of the caves for a weekend, dressed in 1940's style and eating 1940's food (spam sandwiches etc.). A concession to modern life, and modern health & safety regulations, would be the addition of a portaloo. Space outside would be needed for cars, the portaloo and we hope well-wishers and sight-see-ers, and who knows maybe some media coverage. The funds raised are to help publish tourist information to promote the towns history and to push ahead with our proposal for a memorial and small memorial garden to be attached to the St. James Church to keep it as a living and permenant memorial to those who lost their lives in the town during the major conflicts of the last century. All offers of help and ideas are always welcome (as would be a link to our website Paul hint hint).
