  Managed to capture a blue tit feeding her young at the weekend. To my amazement the young one sat on the fence apparently happy to have its picture taken. Anyone else care to share pictures of the local wildlife?

  the thing about phil is he has a great deal of patience kevin.
  
  i remember speaking to him a while back and he said that the trick was to buy the best lens according to pocket and being prepared to lay one ones belly in undergrowth as long as it takes for a creature to appear.
  
  sadly i do not have that patience.

  I have no patience !!! Was heading home and it was just too dark, but there were at least 3 owls in a wood just up the road :(

  Well done guys...lovely pictures there, Saw a Kestrel, or a hawk of some sort anyway, hovering for extensive periods merely feet away from the Cliff Top Cafe at Capel on sunday. Always great to see the wildlife up close...and speaking of dangerous wildlife I was there with ColetteB and BrionyB...

  If it was hovering, Paul, it was a Kestrel. Or a Hummingbird (unlikely around here!); they're the only birds that can hover, except a budgie in a helicopter.

  lol Andy!! you made me laugh out loud there...no it wasnt a budgie in a helicopter this time! But thanks for that..I never really knew re Kestrel and hovering, so will at least know what Im looking at next time now.

  i have a suspicion that we will get some new pics from intrepid phil soon.
  
  either him or someone that was very similar was seen heading up the western heights yesterday afternoon.
