Storm in the channel
- 27 July 2009 22:1926368On the open page Stuart Morris posted about a video on Youtube he had submitted of the storm on July 16th. Below is the link to it - do watch it because it's spectacular. He took it from P&O Aurora and much as I love the sea I think I would have been more than a little scared had I been out there in that lot!

He managed to keep his camera very still didn't he ?
Some good flashes. Sounded like the old story "it was a dark and storm night and the Captain said to the mate..................."

It was a dark and stormy night and the captain said to the mate..
"Lash me to the mast Biggins, I want to experience the thrill of nature first hand"
Biggins with his usual nonplussed demeanour, stabbed a half puffed woodbine out on the palm of his hand and proceeded to do what thew captain ordered, and lashed him to the mast. The waves began to surge...

Yes I saw that too, also appears at 2.34 as well. Yet when the sky is bright with the lightning there are no other ships in view apart from the other liner.
Was it another ship or was it a ghost ship? Scary stuff!

The ship was tossed around like a cork until it crashed on to the rocks in the deserted cove.
The Captain was saved because he was tied to the mast, but Biggins.......................
I saw those too, but thought it was more a flash of lightening, but it looked like an old Spanish Galleon.

My son reckons it could be a reflection of a picture behind the photographer but if that is so how come we can't see the photographer. I'm really interested in this and I'm determined to find out what it is. I may just email P&O to see if they have a picture like that anywhere onboard Aurora.

- 29 July 2009 07:2826408Maybe the actual lightning strike was behind the camera man and the image is the outline of the boat the cameraman was standing on?
