I am just surprised the editor of the Sun will allow himself to be photographed without a bag over his head. He can't possibly be proud of what he does!!!!!

the positive side is that the journalists and staff that got the order of the boot have jobs ringfenced for them.
the ones that lost their jobs were not associated with the scandal.
No?

Howard, all tabloid journalists are bottom-feeding opportunists who deserve a dose of medieval torture.

i am not a reader of the red tops but many people do and these journalists provide them with what they want to read.
the ones that lost their jobs were employed long after the hacking scandal.
not forgetting that many staff there are not journalists at all.
Collusion is as great a sin as commission.

This newspaper is almost certain to be a rip-roaring success. There is a huge market for tittle tattle, a bit of news, and a heavy dollop of added salacious gossip, wot a combination. A sure fire winner and very likely to be a license to print money. After all the News of the World was the biggest selling newspaper here in the UK.
There are reams of magazines on sale all flogging the 'footballers and their wives' angle, they also throw Katy Price and Kerry Katona into that mix with relish...now to be joined no doubt by Amy "ja now what I mean..amazin" Childs. So the market is there..this newspaper will do all that but will be of course harder hitting.
Who was it that said you will never lose money underestimating the tastes of the general public..oh yes, it was Rupert Murdoch. Oul Roop knows his australian onions!
And it is all so depressing.........

i don't see a problem here - nobody has to buy a newspaper, whilst everyone has to buy a t.v. licence.
most of the stuff nowadays is just a rehash of tabloids and trashy magazines.
You do not have to buy newspapers.....
Read them on-line

except for the top ones - the sun, times and financial times.
Sorry Mr mcsweeney.....these are owned by Rupert Murdoch and he charges for a view....I can live without The Sun and The Times.....always pop into Smiths if I am desperate.............
The Financial Times has always charged on-line....but then, they would....I do not dally in stocks and shares...so no lose there.....The Independant is good enough for that................
I could not manage without my Telegraph and Grauniad.........
