The post you are reporting:
As many of you know, I have produced a leaflet - Discover Dover, which was supported by LD Lines , the new ferry company operating a service to Boulogne.
That leaflet was printed a few weeks ago and is now on LD ferries, their booking desk in Dover and Boulogne and in many places in and around Boulogne and Le Touquet.
A short while after it was printed I had discussions with P. & O. and yesterday afternoon I collected 2,000 of the 10,000 French, P. & O. leaflets.
A couple of weeks ago, I applied to the Town Council for part-funding of an English version, which they agreed to do. I collected two thousand of those yesterday too.
I want to pay special thanks to R.K. Graphics, who have created a superb leaflet - and on time.
I have been given a table in the marquee on the seafront this "Bleriot" week-end to give out these 3 versions of the Discover Dover leaflet, so it is a great opportunity to show everyone what Dover has to offer - from historic sites and attractions, to quality shops, pubs, cafe's and restaurants etc.
As an added benefit to those who took an entry in the leaflet, I have asked the businesses for any of their own leaflets etc. so I can display them too, to all the visiitors we have this week-end.
With regard to the English version, Visit Kent have given permission to have them at the two cruise terminals; Dover Harbour Board have agreed to have them displayed at the Information Desk at the Travel Centre, Eastern Docks.
The guest houses will give them out to their guests and of course all the businesses in the leaflet will display them, so all their customers - visitors or residents, will know what we have here.
The two accommodation groups will put the pdf files (both French and English) on their websites and I have asked DDC to put them on the WhiteCliffs Country website, but I've had no confirmation from them yet that they will do so.
I can't think of a more comprehensive coverage and exposure initiative for Dover - ever, so I hope it works for the Town and our businesses.
There's another 24 things to attend to, this is just the start - but I can't do them on my own.
Have a great week-end.
Roger
