It is an established fact that when TB/GB took power in 1997 they inherited the strongest economic position that Britain has had for decades. So strong in fact they announced retaining Ken Clarke's fiscal policies and plans for at least the first year of office.

If there was a problem then, I am sure TB/GB would have said so and set about putting it right. The fact they didn't tends to strongly support my fisrt paragraph.

Fact is, Labour has created this debt burden in 13 years of fiscal mismanagement. Some blame the banks as it deflects from the truth. Remember, the banking regulations were relaxed by Gordie which allowed the banks the opportunity to take unnecessary risks. Without the environment being created by Labour the banking crisis would probably not have happended.

So, when did the mess start? 1997
