I'd like to say something good about the screen i really would. I was over there in Market Sq the other night. I think Ive probably mentioned this on another thread. That Andy Murray guy was playing on the big screen and myself and daughter BB were eating takeaway fish n chips on a stone bench there. It was about 7pm.

Now BBC got one of its biggest viewing figures in recent times that evening..all agog at the Murray geezer....but this raging fever did not permeate itself into Market Sq. There was me and Briony, 8 drunkish guys in the 40 years age group who had probably just left the Ellie, and then after some minutes wandered off in the direction of the Firkin. On an iron bench behind us were a group of p*ssheads late of Pencester. On the other iron bench, adjacent to the White Lightning imbibers, sat a couple who were looking at the big screen. That was it.

Im failing to see the revolution in social cohesion that this screen was supposed to bring.

Some other good stuff happening though, I will be in the park both days getting the usual pictures of the usual suspects!
