I have no problem with the burkini or any other modest swimwear, as long as it is not compulsary. Which brings me to another point: in many Muslim countries female visitors are obliged to wear a headscarf to comply with Muslim tradition, even if they are not Muslim. Now this does sound like the burkini argument in reverse. Can we a have a flat playing field here? no burkina ban here and no headscarf imposition on non-Muslims in Muslim countries? Why do we silently comply to Muslim requirments and when we apply our traditions they complain like mad?
