I was amazed to find this morning that there are eight candidates in the local election..
How many will lose their deposit I wonder?
John Gerard Brigden - Liberal Democrat
David Clark - Christian Peoples Alliance
Charlie Elphicke - Conservative
George Lee-Delisle - Independent
Vic Matcham - UKIP
Gwyn Prosser - Labour
Mike Walters - English Democrats
Dennis Whiting - BNP
Only five live in the constituency.

What is the criteria for a lost deposit?

They need to secure 5% of the votes Martin, if they don't they've lost their five hundred quid.

Cheers Terry, then probably 5 will lose their deposits.
Interesting to note that this close to the GE I still only know what the Tories and UKIP plan if they win. Only one uninformative leaflet from the LibDems, otherwise, from the rest, total silence.

I have had an very poor, bady written, amateurly produced leaflet from the so called 'English Democrats' and a more professional one from our sitting MP - I note that there is no picture of his glorious leader and no reference to him at all.

Interestingly we had the Lib-Dems, BNP and UKIP arriving together with the post a few days ago and then the English Democrats flyer arrived this morning along with one for a pizza delivery service. Out of those two I know where my vote would go.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Really? I might have to read it. Yes Vic I saw you, would have provided a cup of tea but I was changing a nappy at the time you should have knocked.
Pity it's too late to get up a candidate for a Pizza Party.

Give it a whirl, Chris. The fella should have employed a proof reader........I rather enjoyed his reference to the "dastardly fate" awaiting England. I saw steam trains, Trevor Howard, a nice cup of tea and a green and pleasant land.

Maybe we can include the compulsary showing of the classic black and white films on a Sunday afternoon in the Pizza Party manifesto. Throw in a proviso for TV employing actors rather than 'celebraties' and we could be on to a winner.

Well just read it, between bathing children, and must say I was bemused by the "amicably seperated from his Black Afro Caribbean wife" (his capitals). Isn't that a bit like saying "I must be tolerent, I once knew a gay person"?

Having seen my 9 year olds school project work I would say you are doing children a diservice there. It was definitely not good enough to be the work of children.
