hope the weather improves for it, bit out in the sticks for many people though.
Only a 10 minute drive from the Town Centre, so not that remote.

The Dover-Canterbury bus passes through Coldred on its way to Shepherdswell, but I don't know when it runs, or even if it runs at weekends.

not correct ken, that bus runs through temple ewell, lydden then non stop to canterbury.
the service is every 30 minutes during the day, not sure about the evening though it runs very late.
on sunday there are only 4 journeys each way.

I stand corrected Howard.
Never used it myself, but having seen busses in Coldred, I looked up Stahecoach's online timetable and it seemed to suggest there was a stop at the pub.

I think both of you are correct there are two bus routes to Canterbury. The fast one and one that runs less often that goes through some of the villages on the way.

Weather OK today so if you are going out why not go to the fair give them the support so they come back next year.

There are certainly two bus stops in Coldred, one right outside The Carpenters Arms pub and the other down the road to Eythorne a small way. I have seen a bus there - very infrequently, it has to be said - but I have no idea of the route or number.
Chilli Farm, where this event is held every year, is managed by Peter Mummery, a friend of mine who's sadly struggling on his feet these days after a ram decided his knees would bend the other way than nature intended. You'll struggle to find a more community-minded man than Peter Mummery, who lets his land be used for all manner of things, often without charge. Would that there were more of his kind.

Peter Mummery (whose brother is Lord Justice Mummery) is a good friend of ours and a thoroughly good bloke. As well as running the farm and all the other village stuff, he also delivers the papers in the village and arranges a quarterly real ale mystery tour by coach. I haven't seen him lately but I'm sorry to hear about his knees.
PG.
PS he also grits the road through the village in the winter, when he can manage it.
