Culture died eons ago, Rick. Remember Aqua and their musical wonder, Barbie Girl?
True friends stab you in the front.

Andy, I do indeed remember the excellent Aqua and Barbie Girl.
Whilst hardly high culture it was exactly what 'pop' should be, a catchy tune with meaningless lyrics, well produced and completely ephemeral.
Having seen the Jedward twins on Jonathan Ross last week for the first time, it was their complete lack of talent which struck home.

Bob, I've got the CD and Aqua are still popular in the Far East. Pure pop as you say, and more fun than Eminem even though I've a CD of him too.

Jedward CD for 0.29p! That's nearly 6 bob! Far to expensive, I have better things to spend my hard earned cash on

I`ve just found out about that Barbie girl music from my daughter, and it was one of those songs I heard from her bedroom when she was younger, and yes, I do like that one and will pay youtube a visit to see if it`s on there.

Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

Colin. Have you tried Spotify? Almost any track you can think of streamed to your P.C. legally.
Have just listened to Aqua on it.
Perhaps when the Met Office forecast a Barbie Summer they were just saying that we were in for a couple of months of crap euro pop?
Now back to Vampire Weekend!

Colin, Interesting. I've had Spotify for some time and just saved file and put short cut on desktop. If you go on the products tab there are three versions to download. The free version should do the business.
