    howard. Dont joke about something like this. Apart from the fact that there are many lives at stake. I am of course assuming you are joking and that you really understand the economic consequences for the UK economy of a 'blow up' in that part of the world.

    Ignoring the substantial UK investment in that part of the world, the UK Government wants to sell a lot of gilts over the next few years to cover its massive borrowing splurge. S. Korea and China in particular will be important in this.

    Balance of payments be damned, there are much more significant problems from this.
