    In answer to Alec's question......

    "As Howard says "a real pub has resurfaced in Dover and doing well". On the other side of the coin I heard yesterday that the Eagle has closed. Perhaps Jeanette knows something about it as it is on her patch as a member of LRCF.

    No cracks please about "the Eagle has landed"

    All we know at the LVA is that The Eagle closed Sunday evening and they're now looking for someone to take over and be open again by July. When I say "they're", I'm unsure whether that is the brewery or the current licencee, who has already bought in several managers so far.

    It would be a crying shame to see the pub close indefinitely because wiith regards to history, it is much the same as The White Horse.
