  Well said, Barry. The concept of a European federal state is, and always has been, deeply flawed; it cannot be married up by simply bringing in an umbrella currency for all - like you and Howard, I believe (and hope) that the days of the Euro are numbered, to the time when France and Germany realise that their European ideal is no more than a bloody expensive pipe dream.
