  Does the mayor still have the local honours awards??? Surely as a town if there are those who feel people should be honoured in someway, then perhaps locally would be slighlty better. I don't know if there is anything which governs using letters after your name but I would have thought that perhaps on a local level there could be some sort of honours thing if that is what people want.
  
  I do understand what Vic is saying to a degree (makes a nice change understanding Vic) that footballers who are paid extortionate amounts of money are being recognised,when there are so many unsung heros, such as those we only tend to see on Noels Christmas presents or that new thing he is doing Noels HQ. Seeing what some of these individuals do just because they could, is very humbling indeed.
  
  For me. They are the real hero's of society.
