    Much as I appreciate the nomination Howard it isn't my style. A few years ago I had an email from a very prominent person which was headed "Terry Nunn for for Mayor". It suggested that I should stand as a DTC councillor. It went on to say that if mainstream politics weren't my forté I could always join the Indies. My retort was that they were more politcally devisive than the others!

    As for GLT and TAS, well I'm sure that they much prefer to watch the mud slinging rather than be a part of it. However it's done, secret ballot, old boy network, jobs for the boys (and girls) or general public ballot, it will always be political.

    Being a Mayor is a time consuming and onerous job. You need an understanding employer to start with, a self-employed person simply couldn't afford to get involved.

    Anyway, thanks for the thought but I much prefer to stay in the background.
