I love the Mayor's Balls so I do...Im off to the latest one tonight with a few of the glam entourage. Yes I myself have been prodded by the Fairy's Magic Wand and round about 7pm I will turn into the handsome prince...well thats what it sez on the script!...and complete with bog standard penquin suit and frilly shirt I will be whisked off by my carriage at that time.
The Ball is a complete sell out I believe. All tickets sold, and when you consider that we are deep in a recession, thats pretty good, as the tickets were something like £30 each. Well...If you dig deep enough you can usually find the cash by cutting back on other luxuries like feeding the kids! Okay so they might go hungry for a week, but thats okay isnt it, as at the end of it all - I go to the Balllllll !!! wayhey!
Naturally enough we will aim to bring some pictures of the goings on as we have done in previous years...providing the camera works and we can manage to stay sober. After a few jars its amazing how you can forget which button does what...
On balance this is probably Dover's grandest occasion...a great deal of preparation goes into it by the ladies , so always worth going just to see all dem glamorous wimmin! steady!
