16:349624I have had a 'Google Alert' to this new Dover blog:
http://theminetblog.blogspot.com
I think it could cause a stir, not the least by way of guessing who 'Minet' is.. Two clues leave me torn between an eminent local newspaper editor and a certain local historian.
Bit personal and rude toward our MP and DDC Leader and the 'dedication' to Vic is a real sting in the tail....

17:239625BarryW Im not sure why you thought that was worth publicity as its just another 'anonymous' guy having a go at the people trying to do something for the town. I see no merit in it myself.
We spoke about the newspaper this morning publishing an anonymous letter on the 'Tantrum' thread...just is just more of the same type of thing from somebody in hiding.

17:319626Seems familiar though Paul/Barry,there is something about the way it is written that reminds me of a poster on here.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

17:429627PaulB - there are a lot of similar political blogs nationally such as the very well read Guido blog or 'Dizzy' who was quoted in the nationals recently. Looks like someone is trying to do a local version of that kind of thing.
Nothing new though, some traditional digs at Dover that we have read here before. Maybe a DF poster, John, but certain clues makes me think not and turns my suspicions elsewhere!

18:119634just checked it out, doesn't sound like one of our posters or dubris.
everyone has their own style that is not easily hidden.
it started off readable, then just personal attacks on mr p and mr w, easy to do.
best ignored, i think.

19:179639I'll ignore it then !
I don't like anonymous people bemoaning others who work for Dover.

19:509646In some ways it is spot on.
But hard on Paul though. Politicians should not just follow public opinion, but should lead it and if they think something is right then they should campaign on it. That is what Paul did over DHB.
Another bit I did not agree with was over the WCE, a recession could not have been anticipated when the planning for the WCE was started.
The digs at how long the regeneration is taking is all old hat and a bit of a bore. He says exactly what I have said in the past about our esteemed MP.
You are right about Guido Ross. It is a really good read. Unlikely that this blog can get to that standard as a local equivilent.

20:559656the white cliffs experience is very very old news now.
on the plus side, we have a wonderful library, thriving nursery and a great adult education centre.
it wasn't the original aim, but us locals are benefiting from it.

09:529670It isn't me Barry,it is far too intelligent and with long words, and we don't have infighting.

22:119692Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".
