Yes great night for looking at them tonight been out there with my Telescope,also good about it is the timeing of it coming out not late at night so all the better for myself.I think it is better to look at a part of the moon then a full moon you see more ,I find with a full moon it is so bright hard to see the mountains I need to save up now for a better one put a shed up and have it coming out of the roof,I will see what can be done next year.It is avery good pass time for all ages why not give it a try yourselfs.?

I like this one Vic. We do Stargazing its ideal in the hills. Winter time on a clear night sky its brilliant. just make sure you dressed warm enough to stay out for a longer period.
Its a good night tonight for small star showers. We had 3 to 4 tonight in a space of 40 minutes. (roughly)

Thank you both for saying that,Yes I am set up24/7 in my bunker which is open to you all with the visit you get a mess tin full of hot beans and a tin mug of very hot tea.I am still a learner at looking at the stars and moon but love doing it I was out there the other week when we had all the shoting stars about but I only saw about 12 but better to see them by just looking up and not in the telescope.Yes it is cold out there I do have a heater in the bunker and lights,music .As I said at this time the moon is out about 1800hrs so that is better then like some times you are up late. It was very clear lastnight I hope it will be the same tonight,Two years ago we went up by plane at 39,000ft to see the N/lights it was great we was high above them looking down with the B.B.C.night team they turn off all the lights in and outside the plane and you go round and round for 3hours,seeing all the stars etc great time ,you can still log into the B.B.C. NIGHT TEAM and they show you what we saw just log the date in and up it comes, my Karen paid for it cost a bout £365 but for that you get meals and drink and a film and talk in a hotel before you go up.They also sigh a book for you which you buy there.

Vic your bunker sounds much nicer and cosy too. And cheaper

Do not worry about that we have lots of very hot soup,please come anytime,we have over 100 CDS TO PLAY ~+ my boxing photos to look at and very very cosy with carpets to. blue lights inside .and alot cheaper then Cornwall, the weather is just like it is down there to.

Oh Vic I definately pay you a visit. Sounds interesting too. Do you have actually a website for this too? Sounds like something big not just a hobby? I am intrigued :D

All set up for to night hope the sky this like it is now,I have had to set up in front of the house tonight it does not come up and over till late so I have set up in the front garden I like being round the back best.

Just my luck I set up out the front and the moon is higher in the sky tonight so have gone back round the back I have set up again but tree in the way now so I will wait till 20.00hrs and go out again,as you can see for yourself it is a clear night not so good as last night but we should be Ok in about 1hour,sorry I am no good at taking photos +I do not know how to get them up on the PC I have asked for some one to come round and show me how but that has not happen yet,geting cold out there,but you should do well by just looking up tonight we should see the bits coming down off the old rockets etc to, they say about a ton of it,I think most will burn up but again you never know,

Glad you like it,must say I made the Union Jack have done about four now,one is of a horse. if you look at the photos you can just make out me shaking hands with the UKIP LEADER at one time we got on well with each other.Also you can see the many cars I have on show and mugs and the mess tins hanging up if you ever come up you will eat hot beans out of them with a hot tin mug of tea.I also have hanging up some very old boxing photos of myself I did not win them all,but there is my cups in there to and where I won them. You can see my CDplayer, what you can not see is all the flags hanging down and my telescope and the spin dryer,anyway back to the sky tonight I have had to stop to much cloud about and very damm out there. Thank you puting the photo up again must say I do like it.I was stoped in the town and told"I see your bunker in the paper Vic and looking at your hat I see you was a gunner, I had to say sorry but I was in the Buffs.It is all ,locked up when I am not there and has a alam that goes off even when I am there and you can hear it right down the road Ha Ha.But all great fun even for a old 71year.

A lot better night sky out there now very clear moon can be seen with just looking at it,I might go out later to get a better look with the telescope I have in there at this time a 20mm lenns but also I have a 10mm lenns which should bring the moon up real close,I have never used it yet but it is cold again tonight so it will be heater on in the bunker with a mug of soup from M@S they do good soups 3 for two at 85p a can and tonight I will have a Scoth Broth made with Scottish Barley + some great bread from a bakery in Warmer,on the front,we have a mug of tea and a cake and hot pie.

A very good night sky at this time for seeing both the moon and the stars,but I am still not feeling my old self yet ,so I am missing it apart from seeing it from the bedroom window.
