I always expected it to be sold for housing.

Confusing for the public with KCC owning a hospital and the NHS owning a street full of houses, nevertheless a good result in the end.

I have read the report in the Dover Expresss re the forthcoming sale of the former Buckland hospital site. There are comments from our MP.Now. I may appear ,dim but he is suggesting the site is contaminated (there are a few around our district),so is not suitable for housing so why would it be for an in bed facility?
There is a plan for more housing in St Radigunds so that is why the new Health facility should have been built elsewhere as with the industrial site located nearby and large Lorries unable to travel under the railway bridge ,the planners have got it wrong.
If the Health facility had gone in town we perhaps would have the facilities required.

I don't think the idea from KCC is a good one.If they wanted homes for people suffering from dementia there must be better sites .For those quick to pick on River ,I mean elsewhere in the District.

I doubt there is another location in the district with so many empty houses together.

There's only about 10 houses not very many, the rest of the street is virtually all young families who will be concerned, there's a footpath from over the valley lots of Astor and Grammar students use it, perhaps not the best environment for dementia sufferers.

Precisley Reg .Not the best location.Allow young families to live there until they can move up the ladder.Looking over.a Health facility and a building site is not compatible to dementia sufferers .

The old nurses housing would make a better location more privacy and security and space for communal gardens, meeting/gathering areas and shop facilities also less escape routes

The most contaminated part of the whole site is the section directly fronting Cooombe Valley Rd- ? Xray in main building excluded.
The building included the former boiler house & laundry areas.
Reckon they are marketing a most difficult development area.
Local people have been sold down the river on the site by direct sale.
Goes against ALL previous discussions.

I bet the building will be forgotten about and in a few years put on the market again.
