Low emission fuels will be very common within the next 5 years and zero emission fuels within 15 years, maybe sooner. So, as I said, emission levels are irrelevant when considering a 30 year timespan.
Agree about using rail, but, that has failed before because road is just so much more convenient. Even a number of major airlines use road transport for their freight in Europe as it means lower costs and higher customer satisfaction. Fact is, for freight traffic, rail struggles to compete with road.
Extra jobs, well, you admit they will come.
