The centre doesn't close until 5pm but the majority of the clients(hate that word) have left by 3pm for home and the centre is then used free of charge by various groups for their meetings.
If anyone knows of a group, no matter how large, requires a meeting place then just contact Karen at the centre with details of the group.

Is there some connection between the two?

See Kens post on the sea sports centre for the connection

I'm sure riverside would be open for its clients if they wanted an evening centre not a day centre.

There would be no demand for an evening service, many can only get there and back with the courtesy bus driven by volunteers and as Ken said the place is mostly empty after 3 pm. Completely different situation to the Seasports Centre.

Hence why it closes at 5pm.

The Centre does open in the evening for fund raising events but as previously stated it's prime use is as a day centre.

Why should Ken mention it?
Are you thinking of applying Howard McSweeney

"Why should Ken mention it?"
Probably because Karen Tranter runs the Riverside Centre.

I only put it up last week and it is the same as the one at the front of the building that has been there for a considerable time.
I do try to use the Forum to promote ever thing happening at Riverside and Karen asked me to thank you for all the support given by you all. My problem is I spend very little time in the UK at the moment as I still work full time but always browse the Forum when here.

Stepmom is 85 and home alone with dementia and stone deaf. A couple of weeks ago We decided to use the centre’s meal delivery service five days a week. The food is absolutely delicious and good sized portions too. They deliver, let themselves in and put it on a plate for her. Fantastic!

I'm really very pleased for you and Stepmom. I know the worry, especially when Mum is t'other side of the country - and needed to be watched for fear she'd forget the meal. Parents, eh - who'd have em? I'd pay anything to have her back - where did the last 10 years go?
