  i am aware of some of it ray but i don't understand how one individual can have so much say over this national gem.
  
  it says outside "best preserved roman wall paintings in britain", but there are four bank holidays between now and when it opens and 2 months of cruise ships. cruise customers would google dover before they set out and would expect to pay a visit on arrival here.

  The council should get a CPO (as it know how to do them now) on it and then it can become part of the museum.
  Alternatively a section 215?
  
  Looking at google maps, there's a big area presumably with archaeology underneath that could be exposed.

  I think you will find that the house opened to the public today, April 1st, it also opens two days a week all year round for schools etc.

  it is actually a trust run by the chap that brian refers to.
  
  ddc tried to get involved many years ago with making it a genuine attraction that would bring in people from all over but were rebuffed.

  The Roman Painted House is a real treat. Such an amazing attraction and terribly undersold.
  
  I have taken my kids there many times and first went myself at the age of 6, whilst doing a project on the Romans at primary school. Sadly the information surrounding the structure has not changed since I was 6 and now every time I take people there, the whole thing seems terribly parochial when it should be overwhelming.
  
  I always think that the commitment of the staff should be commended. That being said, I am always reminded of the difference between interest and enthusiasm.
  
  This sign really signifies our town's problem: The presentation of history (cast alongside a crest), with a large footnote of bureaucracy in public domain typeface.

  I,ve never been there,its one place that i,ve been meaning to go to but as mentioned it has such limited opening times.I can remember my dad taking me to see some roman ruins back in the early 70s when the York st duel carrigeway was being built.The thing i remember most was a skeleton on display.Not sure if it is the same one thats now on display in the museum.
