Just through a conversation with one of the Harbour Police, so cannot say for sure, but it seems that the steel-fixing contractor bit off more than they could chew.
I think the plan was for it to be open for this year Regatta and it should have been water tight for first fix last month. Still looks a little way off at the moment!
Yes it still looks a long way off completion. Still wall to wall scaffolding etc with still hovering crane and cement mixers. However sometimes these things suddenly jump into life...they take the scaffolding down clean up the surrounding areas and bobs yer uncle. The design looks impressive..definitely a few notches up on the wooden huts!!
i hope that you are wrong dave, i was assured that everything was properly funded.
then again i was assured on another forum that june was a goer, the month i mean, of course.
why do we get let down so much?
the bus garage and b house look like they will see us through to next millenium.
Interestingly there was a pale weak light shining all night inside the structure last night. Was somebody working?..well I dont thinkso as it wasnt bright enough. It had the haunted look of a ghostly visitation? Perhaps it was the souls of ancient carpenters and bricklayers urging progress...onward christian hammer-swingers it whispered!
