    I listened to a interview with one of the people who made the decision to ban the flags on taxis in Canterbury, he said it is entirely on safety grounds, the fluttering flags can frighten horses! and a taxi has to look different to all other cars so that people do not get in a car that is not a taxi by mistake. He denied they were being killjoys!
