I was able with my family today watch with pride solidiers of The Princess of Wales
regiment march through the streets of Canterbury , returning from their stint of overseas duty .
Whether we believe they are fighting a good cause is another arguement .I felt humbled watching some of the lads so young at least they have returned safely this time .
When you look at these men one has to rememeber they are someones Son,Dad ,Brother or Husband .No mock tears just applause and cheers .
God be with them all .

Hear Hear Sue!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
Absolutely. My son is 17, and when I think of those lads over there, and of Henry Allingham, so young when he had to face all that horror and the memories that must have populated his head. A good round three cheers for them all.

One of my clients will have been among them, I would have liked to be there.

We should all have the greatest respect for our soldiers, whatever their rank.
They don't choose where to fighht, but fight they do and bravely so, even when their comrades are being killed so regularly and so unnecessarily.

We are proud of our soldiers, but there is divided opinion on whether or not they should be fighting these wars and how, and these wars in diffrent ways has full support of the 2 major parties even your DC

I wasn't saying about the rights or wrongs of where they are, just that they don't choose where they fight.

most of these troops are hardly out of their teens.
did any of us know anything about world politics at that age?
should be just relief that they are back.

most of todays troops are roughly the same age [18] as in the last two world wars.sad as it seems i have seen headstones from the first world war with ages as young as 15,luckerly we will never see that again.
