    Indeed. But my point is, given our 3rd country status, what currently lacking preparation did you have in mind?

    Still can't get my head around whether this is a pan-EU thing or a Schengen one and what the difference on the ground will be between ETIAS and EES. For example, if it's a Schengen matter and given that neither the UK nor Eire is a member (and never was), does that mean Irish nationals (who are EU citizens) can just say "Top of the morning" to the nice PAF officer at Dover and carry straight on?
