    A poster from another forum I use, which is based in another part of the country, has some interesting suggestions....

    "Very easy to see how Dover is not at all set up for this. Suggest we demolish most of Dover and make it one big customs/immigrations hall. I'm sure that Doverites voted for it after-all. Or, perhaps we could move the French/EU border to say Ashford where we have more space  - Dover becomes French and then no delays there! Anybody got any more sensible ideas - what used to work...oh yes...what was it called....."
