    Summer getaway: Travel alert
This weekend (July 19 to 21) is expected to be one of the busiest for cross-channel traffic as most schools break up and people head off on their summer holidays.

The Olympic Games also begin in Paris next Friday (July 26) so this busy period will continue over the coming weeks.

We know this can impact residents and businesses in Dover when the town becomes congested and we understand how frustrating this can be.

We are not responsible for roads, which falls under Kent County Council and National Highways, but we work closely with the community and do all we can to offer support and advice.

FWe also have a dedicated page on our website where you can find up-to-date information including:

The expected busiest days for port traffic
Details on how traffic is being managed
Links to key services in the event of disruption.
