'A new £44 million Kent railway station branded a costly white elephant has been hailed a success - despite failing to hit passenger targets'.

Fortunately the railway station is next to Manston 'Airport' and our new government is looking for brown field sites to build millions of 'much needed' homes and 'in the light of the urgency of tackling climate change, we should oppose all airport expansion' (Labour Policy Forum).
The erstwhile intern at the Bank of England, Rachel Reeves says, and official Labour policy states that airport expansion has to meet "four tests", spanning economic benefits, pollution, noise and climate targets.
I look forward to Polly Billington MP explaining all this to the good burghers of Thanet, although I expect her to blame the black-hole left by the Tories and Brexit along with the discovery of greater crested newts on the runway!
Breeding boxes for displaced Londoners coming up! Anyone ever thought how much the site would be worth if used for housing? Just saying.
