There can be no doubt that if a place presents well on TV, whether in a drama or factual programme, it will do it no harm at all. We have so much to present: Town Hall; Museum; painted house; St Edmunds chapel; the Pent; Castle; Kearsney Abbey; Connaught Park; the cliffs, Samphire Hoe, added to which Dover is teeming with history!! Where are the thousands of tourists? Do we really only have the odd visitor from a Cruise liner to rely on? We do not sell ourselves. Look at the thousands and thousands of people who flock to that village in Yorkshire where they film "Last of the Summer Wine" (can't think of the name). And they only go to see Nora Battey's house and the caff on the corner!
