O.K. About the meeting,it was a very good one with over 100 members there .There are points you would like to know about the the next Gen/Election,the first one is there is a new Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 I did not know this till I went to the meeting.
This Act introduces new rules to take effect from 1January 2010 and run until the date Parliament is dissoved and I am told the last day is 11.4.2010,so now you have it,the election must be called before or on that date.So from Ist Jan 2010 till the date of Parliament is dissolved,this period must be called by all partys "The long campaign".
The long campaign ends when the campaign regulated period that we are used to begins ,this will now be called "The short campaign.
To the voter this means nothing ,but to the partys it does it is all about how much money the partys can spend on the election and when they can spend it.
Now going on to Lord Pearson and the wording he used when asked about U.K.I.P. on the T,V, i must say I did not see it or heard it,but it was about the word "Disband"of the party, He went on to tell us that it was taken out of contep and profile. And the wording he said was a mistake and that he should not have said it.He went on to talk about his own expenditure ,he did tell us that he does have a home in london and Scotland and yes he has put down expenditure for his home in L;ondon but it is only because his work in the house of Lords etc means he is in London up to six even 7 days aweek at times and most of the year he is in LONDON and it is to far to come from scotland each day.He did go on to say more I am just telling you the outline of it,if you would like to know more about it please aske me and if i can tell you then I will.He was talking for about one hour to us all after i did have a chat with himAlso Mr Farage was there who I do know fro the last Election,he is a very good and talks well,again I had words with him after the meeting.I think lord Pearson will make a good leader but not a good public talker. I have have had a email from him today and he goes on to say "How proud he is to be the leader of such a marvellous party and to tell us that Under his leadership U.K.I.P.will continue to target seats right across the U.K.
