  And most desperately trying for degrees in hairdressing or media studies. In other words, nothing worthwhile.
  
  And while I'm on the subject, my daughter is taking an English degree. The standard of her English, even though she won top prize at St Eddie's, would not have got her into the top class at my secondary school back in the '60's!!!
  
  As the saying goes, "quality not quantity".
