  Something a little lighthearted after the doom and gloom, it's raining again and I've just been watching two ring neck doves in my garden and the male is sheltering the female with his wing - so sweet.

  Very interesting pictures Jeane lovely to see them..but forgive me for being el stupido here, are those birds pets or are they wild ones? Either way though mother nature is absolutely extraordinary as animals are not supposed to have emotions or are they??
  
  Maybe thats why people have been singing about their 'turtle doves' for years !!

  PaulB not a stupid question, these are 'semi-pets', wild but we have the same 6 visiting our garden several times a day for the last 3 years (I have names for them all lol!) Some people do keep doves, homing doves etc as pets but they are quite abundant in the wild here. One of them (Brian ) comes into the conservatory every now and again. The first time he did that the dog thought lunch was early!
  
  They were sitting in the garden for about half and hour this morning and at first I thought the larger bird was having a shower in the rain but he actually sat quite still with his wing over the smaller bird for several minutes, so heartwarming to watch!
