took a look earlier as it was open for heritage weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it last year.
not sure of the actual age of this "holditch organ" but they purchased it second hand in 1888 for 60 quid.

Why do you call this a 'Holditch ' organ Howard? Did it come from the village of Holditch ?

absolutely no idea tom it was on the blurb given to me, incidentally i saw the log book for the organ and it gets tuned annually by a specialist firm in canterbury.

Yes Howard, organs are much like Monuments of pewter and wood that can endure for centuries, and as 'grandfather's axe' can remain in operation for millennia.

of the many interesting features of the church i found the small exhibition about our coal heritage very interesting.
more recently there are artworks relating to the channel tunnel.
