Having been a walk leader for the 'Walking for Health initiative' for a number of years now I may be a little biased but the Thursday walks are well worth joining. We have a good group of regular walkers, representing all ages and abilities, and they are all friendly and supportive of eachother. The walks are varied and we have in the past arranged tours of the lifeboat, a guided talk in the Masonic hall, visits to the town council offices and a range of history walks. They really are a great way of spending a couple of hours in sociable company, and they are good for you. You burn off exactly the same amount of calories walking as you do jogging so I would recommend them to all.
