  Hi All.... I have spoken At length this morning with Steve Noddings Of Kent police.... and due to a number of factors it has been decided to move the date of this years Dover Carnival from Saturday July 3rd to SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST 2010
  The contributing factors were as follows.... World Cup is due to start soon... and the Quarter finals for this event will be taking place on the 2nd and 3rd July... Dover Carnival has previously fallen during the european cup quarter finals and it is safe to say... we might as well have not bothered having a parade.
  The second and more important of the 2 factors is that Kent Highways have informed me that they are currently undertaking MASSIVE gas work repair in the Market Square area of town which WILL NOT be finished in time for the original date..
  
  As Some of you know already... The area is also coming under yet new guide lines when it comes to manning of carnival parades as the police will no longer be in a position to help us in the way they have in the past....
  
  rather than attempt a bosh job .. I felt it best to move the date so that there will be as little hinderance as possible.
