Thanks to the US President, there is already a strong anti-British feeling in the States following the BP incident. I don't mean to underplay the seriousness of the oil leak, but does it really justify a tide of racist anti-British sentiment? And now I see he has compared the event to 9-11. So now BP are terrorists eh? Okay I get it, the comparison is supposed to indicate the American trauma that the disaster has caused. But come on. 9-11? Come on!!
I'm of the opinion that in the wake of this disaster (which I will freely admit is pretty awful) the US has shown its true colours. They seem willing to turn against anyone in any event that hurts them. Even when it's a close friend like the UK was supposed to be and even when it is an accident rather than an act of war or terrorism.
I would never blame the US for coming down hard on BP, but the whole UK? And to compare it to 9-11 is beyond offensive. If he ain't careful us Brits might go over there and commit gross acts of suicide oiling.
