We have just come past the castle and noticed the huge crowd parking up there - then down into the town and there is no-one about. the parking spaces are empty but of course no visitors are going to stop when you have to pay. Ona bank holiday - we thought it might be nice if it were free - then they might wander around and see what we have - then we might get some businesses to open for the day - then more might come in - then some visitors may decide its nice here and come and set up new businesses.......
I suppose the DDC might not have parking attendants out today and save money....
Exactly!

At the LRCF meeting David, Nadeem Aziz mentioned parking in his opening address. I asked why bank holidays weren't classed as Sundays. He didn't seem to know what I was talking about. He obviously doesn't park in Dover on a bank holiday!

Maybe Mr. Aziz doesn't understand what Sundays are about either.

The question is: does he use Dover for anything? the proof of the pudding, and all that.

tell me if you had the power/dosh what would you change in Dover, how, and what wouldnt you spend dosh on?
What would you do away with to get your projects in place?
Its all very well being anti everything, maybe you can give some positives???

for a start get st james moving ie demoltion of the mfi building and start building the hotel so the phone masts can be moved, with bh allso being demolished then full speed ahead with the rebuild.once up and running get the so called high street sorted, definition of high street is between bench street underpas to hollis moters, allso get the old cinema/nightclub sorted because its an eyesore.then and only then was its all up and running promote the town to death far and wide,to encourage the people of the cruise ships into the town to spend money with a taster of the town at the cruise terminal.is that posative enough for you kieth.

I presume you mean positive? well its a start, so lets look at your positive ideas cos we don't get many.
Support the getting rid of the old MFI building, on the hotel, i do wonder if there is a hotel wanting to build thats to be seen,
the phone masts I understand are costly to be moved, although thats no excuse to have taken as long as it has.
BH yep realy need to see that taken down asap.
In all honesty with the present District/county councils views of moving everything to Whitfield its unlikely you will ever be able to sustain a town centre from Bench street to Hollis motors its a nice dream, but in the real world,,,,,
I DO agree nightclub(ex) is a mess and at the very least a paintover would make it look better, it does look a mess.
The last part of your post I fully agree.
So there you go
