    "Couldn't run a corner shop" comes to mind on reading all the above. The WCE had the potential to be a run-away success with the right management and leadership. Sobering to read that a £21 million enterprise was placed in the hands of a shower of well meaning incompetents who were so obviously floundering so far out of their depth.

    It is the price of democracy I suppose, we get what we elect and the calibre of people capable of making informed visionary decisions that propel Dover forward do not offer themselves up for election.

    Love the bit about "Their policies for regenerating Dover relied on attracting industry and acting as an 'enabler' rather than a provider of heritage and tourism facilities." Anybody aware of any industry attracted or heritage and tourism facilities enabled? You couldn't make it up.
