You see, Brian, Barry and I each get to the facts behind the scenes which so many don't realise, the statistical truths, which is why Barry runs a blog with plenty of numbers and figures that make one's hair stand up, and I spend a lot of time trying to brush my hair down again, as it is literally frightening what the statistic truths are in our Treasury!
Alas, in the Royal and merchant Navies, many sailors died very young, and they are the ones who discovered Australia, New Zealand and Canada (and the Falkland Islands) and transported the troops in red jackets there, and the setlers from the British Isles, and the sheep and cattle to graze there.
And often could only dream of a savoury sausage when out at sea for weeks and months! We ought to erect a monument to the British Sailor who did all this for us, to the many hundreds of thousands over the centuries!
